Position Overview
Aalis Management Consulting has an opening for an International Labor Rights Specialist to support labor policy, trade compliance, and worker rights initiatives related to Mexico. This role provides subject-matter expertise in Mexican labor law, international labor standards, and enforcement mechanisms related to trade obligations.
The ideal candidate is fluent in Spanish, possesses strong analytical and policy-writing capabilities, and demonstrates expertise in labor rights, stakeholder engagement, and cross-border regulatory frameworks.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert analysis of Mexican labor law, labor reforms, and institutional frameworks
- Support monitoring, evaluation, and enforcement activities under USMCA labor provisions
- Conduct policy research and prepare briefing materials, reports, and recommendations for senior leadership
- Assess labor rights risks, compliance gaps, and remediation strategies
- Coordinate with interagency partners, including trade, labor, and diplomatic stakeholders
- Engage with Mexican government entities, worker organizations, and civil society groups
- Support the development of policy guidance and technical assistance initiatives
- Track developments related to collective bargaining, freedom of association, and forced labor
Required Qualifications
- Juris Doctor or Master's degree in Labor Relations, Law, Public Policy, International Affairs, or related field
- Professional fluency in Spanish (reading, writing, speaking)
- Demonstrated experience with labor rights, labor law, or international labor standards
- Knowledge of USMCA labor mechanisms or international trade-labor frameworks
- Strong analytical, writing, and policy development skills
- Experience preparing executive-level briefings or reports
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, interagency environment
