Title: Senior Accountant / Analyst

Client: Federal Agency - Health

Location: Hybrid work model: 2 days onsite and 3 days remote – Washington, D.C.

Clearance: Public Trust

Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance; the applicant must be a U.S. Citizen for consideration.

Number of Position(s): Several openings (Accounts Payable/IPAC Transactions/Travel/Grant Obligation accounting)

Work Schedule: 8 am – 5 pm

Work Day: Monday – Friday

 

Job Description: The Senior Accountant / Analyst provides expert-level government accounting support across Accounts Payable (AP), IPAC transactions, travel payments, and grant/obligation accounting. This role serves as a subject-matter expert (SME), supporting complex reconciliations, compliance activities, audits, and system enhancements in a federal financial environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide advanced accounting support and technical guidance across AP, IPAC, travel, obligations, and grant accounting functions
  • Perform and review complex reconciliations, financial analyses, and reporting to ensure accuracy and compliance with federal regulations
  • Identify, research, and resolve complex accounting discrepancies and system issues
  • Support internal and external audit activities, including A-123 data calls and internal controls documentation
  • Assist with financial system User Acceptance Testing (UAT), upgrades, and validation activities
  • Ensure compliance with federal accounting standards, OMB guidance, and HHS financial policies
  • Collaborate with program offices, shared service providers, and other stakeholders to resolve financial issues

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Minimum of 3 years of government accounting experience
  • Demonstrated experience supporting AP, IPAC, travel, and federal accounting operations

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with UFMS and/or Oracle Federal Financials R12
  • Direct experience processing or reconciling IPAC transactions
  • Strong analytical, reconciliation, and documentation skills

Security Requirement

  • Completed Level 4 background investigation within the past 4 years
